A blue law is a type of law that was originally designed to enforce a moral standard. Intriguing that a free country would use a law to force what should be a personal choice...
These laws are used most particularly to ensure the observance of Sundays as days of worship &/or rest.
This is despite the foresight of our founding fathers in ensuring a separation of church & state in that handy & increasingly altered & abused constitution.
Now most states have repealed or simply don't enforce these laws. The ones that do usually use them to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages in groceries & liquor stores on Sundays. I'm originally from Indiana where that is the law.
Now I live here in Chicago & don't worry about it.

I feel like being out & having some fun, & I know that responsibly... I should be a shut-in.
I'm just not good at it. The only thing that keeps me doing the 9-5 thing, I often fear, is that it occasionally allows me to enjoy the simple joys in life. Beer to drown the sorrows, darts to feel good at something, & boys to ogle... Wow! I am simple!
I truly can't function if I work, work, work, just so other people gain...
Damn these working man blues! Hehe
